Things to Do

If you're looking for something to do while in the Twin Cities (besides our reception, of course!), here are some suggestions, whether you have a few hours to kill or a full day to kill:

Walker Art Center
This is where John proposed to Sarah! The Walker has an internationally acclaimed permanent collection of modern and contemporary visual art and is a must-see for any art lover. If the weather is nice, be sure to check out the free Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, too!
1750 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN
Hours: Daily 11am–5pm; Thurs 11am–9pm; Closed on Mondays

Science Museum of Minnesota
Did you know that this is where Sarah works?! Check out the current Omni-Theater movie: Tornado Alley and follow some storm chasers directly to the inside of a tornado, or check out our current temporary exhibition: Lost Egypt, perfect for the budding archaeologist. This museum is full of hands-on experiences for both kids and adults.
120 Kellogg Blvd W
Saint Paul, MN 55102
Hours: Thurs–Sat: 9:30am–9pm; Sun, Tues–Wed: 9:30am–5pm; Closed on Mondays

Mill City Museum
This museum is built into the ruins of an old flour mill. And it's here, right on the Mississippi River, where you can learn about the history of the flour industry, the City of Minneapolis, and the river. Ever heard of Gold Medal Flour? Well, its home, as well as many other flour companies, is right here in Minneapolis. It sounds a little dry [har har], but trust us, it's a beautiful location and a very interesting museum where you can learn all about why Minneapolis is the metropolis that it is.
704 S 2nd Street
Minneapolis, MN 55401
Hours: Tues–Sat: 10am–5pm; Sun: noon–5pm; Closed on Mondays

Mall of America
250 stores, 50 restaurants, and a theme park. No sales tax on clothing or shoes. A must-see if you've never visited the twin cities before.
8100 24th Ave., Bloomington, MN
Hours: M–Sat: 10am–10pm; Sun: 11am–7pm

Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions
Watch the Vikings take on the Lions at the infamous Metrodome. The roof's been fixed, but it's only a matter of time before the new stadium is built and the "Dome" is gone.
Sunday, November 11, noon
Metrodome (Mall of America Field)
900 S 5th Street
Minneapolis, MN
